Creatbot Dx Plus E3d V5 bowden hot ends
thingiverse
Conversion of a Creatbot DX to E3D V5 hotends. This conversion worked extremely well, so I highly recommend buying the E3D V5 hotends with Bowden tube threads. The threads in the E3D head are nearly identical to the Creatbot screw adjusters, making the installation process relatively straightforward. If I were doing it again, I might opt for V6s and cut custom threads to fit the Creatbot screw adjusters perfectly. You will need to carefully file the fins on the hotends to ensure they fit snugly side by side. Additionally, I drilled a small slot in the heater block to accommodate the original Creatbot thermistor, as the E3D ones are not compatible. Keep in mind that this conversion results in a slight reduction of Z travel. However, it's a small trade-off for the improved performance and reliability. I also upgraded the Bowden tube to an imperial one from E3D, which boasts better tolerance than the Creatbot 4mm tube. The new tube extends directly from the extruders through the red block all the way to the hotend. To achieve this, you'll need to drill out the Bowden coupling while leaving the retaining spring intact. Finally, I replaced the original extruders with Bondtech ones, which have significantly improved the reliability of my printer.
