Creality Spool Holder
thingiverse
This is my design for a spool holder for the CR10, born from a burst of inspiration while struggling to sleep one night and brought to life in just 3 hours. Many existing spool holders rely on bearings to minimize friction, but I was deterred by the need for 4 bearings and the requirement for a substantial base structure beneath the filament spool. My design employs only 2 bearings and utilizes the existing spool holder arm from Creality printers, making it easily mountable above the printer as well. After scouring the internet, I couldn't find any similar design that features bearings on the inside like this one, only those situated below. Additionally, a slider allows for adjustments to accommodate different sized filament spools, and any bearing with an 8mm bore can be used. For me, the fit was seamless, requiring just a bit of force to secure the bearings in place while still allowing them to spin freely. I've included the step files for anyone who might envision a better way to attach the back side; perhaps together we can find a solution that eliminates the need for an M4x15 screw and nut, reducing the required bearings to just 2.
