Creality K1 Spool Holder with bearings
thingiverse
I experienced under-extrusion problems on my K1. One of the issues causing the filament thread to be hard to feed is that the spool holder is fixed and causes friction when filament is pulled from the spool. Especially from full paper spools. I therefore created a spool holder that can use the same bayonet mount as the original, but rests on two bearings. The new holder is a simple drop in replacement that removes all friction since it spins freely. In addition I rerouted the Bowden filament tube, so that it is not captured within the link chain. These two fixes solved my under-extrusion problems. The FreeCAD design file is included. Change it to your liking. BOM: 1 M8 Bolt at least 78 mm 1 M8 Locknut 4 M8 washers, ca 16mm x 1.5mm 2 Bearings. Any 608, 608zz or 608rs should work¨. Use the cheapest ones you can find. If you are in a pinch, you can skip the outmost and inmost washer. I had to do so, since I used a too short bolt.
