Creality Ender3 S1 Ribbon Cable Strain Relief

Unlike other designs for the Sprite extruder ribbon cable with horizontal cable output, mine runs cable vertical which:

1. naturally conform to how the cable run towards the next clip

2. provides more space away from the Z-extrusion even with full extended range for X (from -10.0 to 250.0), and Z=270.0 even with glass bed. I planned to design a nozzle brush at the far right of x-gantry such that it can work with “wipe nozzle between layer” slicer setting.

The print-in-place clip probably works best with PETG which is more malleable. I printed with PLA just to see if too stiff but turned out OK.

I printed with 0.2mm layer height, 0.48mm line width 3 walls with 0 infill (walls cover all infill areas). No support needed.

<oembed url="https://youtu.be/IQSQ4W1v48M"></oembed>
