Creality Ender3/CR-10 X axis double damper mount for heat sink and fan
thingiverse
After dealing with problems caused by single dampers and heat issues, I designed a dual mount that allows the addition of a heat sink and even a fan if needed. This setup has been incredibly effective in resolving temperature concerns. Adding just the heat sink results in the stepper running at roughly the same temperature as when not using the dampers. But with the fan added, it remains completely cool to the touch. The files I've created include two separate versions: one for CR-10 printers that utilizes the longer stepper motor and another for Ender 3 which features the shorter one. I'm currently working on a setup for the Y axis and will include it in this set once completed. You can find the heatsink I used at BNTECHGO, where you'll need to trim the fins and drill holes – don't use the pads that come with it.
