<oembed url="https://youtu.be/TFctt7043uc"></oembed>

In this video we are going to breathe some fire into "Project Dragon Rising" - The Creality Ender 7 printer that I have been modifying. The Bondtech LGX lite extruder combined with Slice Engineering's Mosquito Magnum hot end should bring the heat!

First we will benchmark the existing hotend from Creality and see what volumetric flow rate this machine is capable of from the factory. We will be using @CNC Kitchen flow rate test to perform this analysis. I have edited the gcode files to be compatible with the Creality Ender 7. You can find them HERE on this page in the gcode section.

Then I will walk you through the installation and all extra considerations for the new equipment. This includes changing the esteps of your firmware, along with running a PID autotune, and making adjustments for the new nozzle offset. Currently there is no known open source Marlin configuration file for the Creality Ender 7 and so I had to reuse the old thermistor.

In a future video I will be installing Klipper, which will allow me to run a custom thermistor and higher melt temperatures. This will also unlock more advanced features such as linear advance and input shaping.

For a more detailed methodology of performing the bed leveling procedure:

With CR Touch:

<oembed url="https://youtu.be/Nh_jRgGm_Vw?t=876"></oembed>

Without CR Touch:

<oembed url="https://youtu.be/UmZUcStieUI?t=737"></oembed>

If you are looking to support my work and get something in return, check out my website where you can find the printed parts in this project for sale. They are printed in carbon fiber PETG and will look beautiful on your machine. I also have other Ender 7 upgrades for sale such as the double sided magnetic flex plate and the triple lead screw z axis kit as seen in this video:

https://www.embracemaking.com

You can find the Bondtech LGX lite here:

https://www.bondtech.se/product/lgx-lite-large-gears-extruder/

and the Mosquito Magnum Hot End here (use this link to access discounts or code CHRIC5)

If you are looking to print your own parts, YOU ARE HERE on my Printables page for this project. It goes a long way in helping me grow my channel and content!

You can find the BLtouch/CRtouch firmware for the Ender 7 here:

Scroll to the bottom of the listing to find the download link.

If you have any questions, please leave them in the comments section below as I try to reply to every single comment! Thank you!

*NOTE Printables is not allowing me to add the gcode file to change your esteps automatically because of the M500 command. See the gcode below… it is simply 2 lines. Copy and paste the code into a notepad document and save it with .gcode file extension. Put it on an SD card and run it on your printer to change your esteps.

M92 E562 ; Set E Steps to 562
M500 ; Store Settings

#3Dprinting #Creality #Drucker
