Creality Ender 3 v2 Quiet Cooler v2 w/ CRTouch Support
thingiverse
A while back I made an alternative cooler mount for the Creality Ender 3 v2 3D printer. (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4969159) I wanted the printer to be as quiet as possible, and the cooling fans were the loudest part of the system. Out of the box, the printer uses one rather loud filament cooling fan. I made a cooler that allows you to use two quiet fans. However, that cooler blocked the mount point for the CRTouch auto-bed-leveling sensor. I recently started using that sensor myself, so I made a new version of the cooler that is compatible. I've designed this one to be printable without support, if desired. Once again, this is designed to use Orion OD4010-24LB fans ($12 on DigiKey, https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/orion-fans/OD4010-24LB/2621116), though any 24VDC 40mm x 10mm fans would work just fine, mounted using M3 screws, 12-16mm length. https://youtu.be/ISpXVTX4qdM **FAQ** - How are the two new fans connected? Out of the box, the printer provides 24VDC to the filament fans. So it's convenient to keep using 24VDC fans. I just spliced the two new fans into the existing fan cable in parallel. If you want to use 5VDC or 12VDC fans, you'll probably want to implement your own voltage regulator because running those fans at 24V will make them extremely loud and might damage them. - Do the grilles matter? Not that much. They don't really keep dust out of anything. We're using quiet fans with low flow rates, so the air passing through them doesn't product significant noise. In this new configuration, space is very limited so I haven't added grilles at all, though you could add very thin grilles if you want to. You might need to cut out part of the grille for the left filament cooling fan. - Can you use two blowers? No, that defeats the purpose of this part. Blowers are the loudest fans available and the purpose of this part is to be as quiet as possible.
