Creality Ender 3 Pro LED Heat Bed Mod
prusaprinters

This model to adds a feature that is standard on Prusa printers, a heat bed LED. It's to see when the bed is heating or hot, so I created this mod to gain that feature. It's a drop in replacement for the strain relief cover for the Ender 3 Pro and probably other models

This is not a How-To document, this just shows how I modified my own printer. I have over 40 years of electronics experience and feel qualified to perform this on my own printer.

Warning! Do not attempt this mod unless experienced with electronics and soldering. There is a potential for fire and/or equipment damage if this procedure is done incorrectly. It’s not worth the risk just for an indicator light. Seek a qualified electronics engineer to help out if necessary.

Parts List

1 1/4w 1.5K Ω Resister

1 3mm LED (Red)

1 3D Printed Heat Bed replacement cover

1 24mm Length of small heat shrink tubing or small 1mm insulative tubing

1 Small Cable tie 2.5mm w x 1 mm h

1 2-wire, 2.54mm Pitch Female Dupont connector 2-Pin Connector 300mm long wires attached.
