So this is a print monitor that snaps onto the little cover over the Y axis homing switch on the Ender 3. It's made up of a Wemos D1 Mini and a small ESP8266 display, using the same bolt pattern as the existing cover to secure it in place. All the components fit neatly inside the case, with the USB cord serving only as a power source - you could also run it off a 5V buck converter if that's your preference. Mounting it requires longer M3 screws, but it works just as well sitting on the table or wherever you choose to position it. The two pieces are held together by friction fit, and since the D1 Mini is also held in place by friction, be sure to calibrate your printer before assembling this project. I used a guide from Instructables (https://www.instructables.com/id/3D-Printer-Monitor-Wemos-D1-Mini-ESP8266/) to set everything up, but keep in mind that you need to use the specific board version mentioned in the guide for the screen to function correctly. I've learned this the hard way. To get it all to fit inside such a small package, you'll also need to remove the pre-soldered header pins on the display and replace them with wires - using hot glue to hold these wires in place can save you from frustration and heartache as you work with the pieces.
