Creality Ender 3 Power Supply Silencer
grabcad
Made this in CATIA based on existing designs. This 3D printed part is created specifically for covering the power supply fan of the Creality Ender 3. It significantly reduces the fan noise by redirecting the airflow towards the back of the machine, rather than the right side. The main differences between this model and its predecessors are found within the interior of the part. I've optimized the geometry of the guide vanes to minimize airflow restriction as much as possible. The vanes do not protrude over the fan exhaust holes punched into the power supply sheet metal wall. Additionally, a cylinder is added in the middle of the fan exhaust area, where there is no air coming out, which reduces air turbulence inside the silencer. Furthermore, I've lengthened the cover compared to the original design to further reduce noise levels. A word of advice for installation: remove only one screw at a time to avoid the fan falling into the power supply. The two sections where screws are installed are quite thin, designed to ensure sufficient thread on existing screws for installing the cover without needing new ones. Supports were used during printing, but no raft or brim was required, and I always use a skirt. Caution: There are different types of power supplies that can come with your Ender 3, including potentially more than two. This cover/silencer is specifically designed for the earlier model. You should be able to determine if it will fit your printer by examining the screw hole pattern on your Ender 3. The gcode file and STL file have been uploaded for the Ender 3, as well as the original CATIA part for modification purposes.
