Update: August 6th, 2019 - After experiencing repeated problems with loose and broken pins, I've decided to retire this design altogether. I strongly advise against making this in its current form. -------------------------------- Version 2 Update: July 10th, 2019 - A month into using the original design, one of the pins snapped due to frequent insertions and removals. To address this issue, I've reinforced the pin and redesigned it with a printable guide that requires no supports - this new orientation should also make the structure significantly stronger. -------------------------------- Despite numerous excellent filament guide designs available for the Creality Ender 3, I found none that utilized the two holes on the X-axis gantry behind the extruder stepper motor. I wanted a guide that was firmly attached, discreetly located, and didn't require any additional hardware removals. This design allows the guide to move up and down with the X-axis gantry while maintaining a consistent horizontal entry point for the filament into the extruder. To attach this guide, simply use two 3D printed push pins - no tools or threaded fasteners are required. The side entry of the loop accommodates standard 1.75mm filament. If you discover any improvements to this design, please post a remix so I can easily create it for myself.
