**Update 8/22/2018** Several individuals expressed concerns about the lid fitting properly after adding Smoothers. Upon investigation, it appears that newer Ender 3 boards place connections slightly higher. I strongly advise against using this design for newer Ender 3s, as both my printers are from what seems to be the first batch and I'm unable to test new designs. **Update 6/21/2018** The lid has been redesigned with a removable fan guard/mount that clips into place. This allows quick access to the control board and internal components without removing the entire lid, resulting in a more professional appearance. Test prints on the new design are ongoing, so it's considered a work in progress. The original designs without the fan guard/mount cutaway have been tested and function properly. **Update 6/20/2018** A file containing two Smoother mounts has been added, as some users indicated they only need for the x and y axes. I installed the third mount on the z-axis primarily for noise control when using z-hop settings with thin spire-like structures in prints. **Original Message** Recently acquired a Creality Ender 3 and heard that TL-Smoothers can help reduce "salmon skin" on faster prints. The control box is cramped, but there's enough room to mount the Smoother boards without needing longer cables. - Mounting Smoother boards requires at least six M3x6mm screws. - The stock 40mm fan can be mounted, but will need slightly longer screws; I used M3x18mm. - Three stock mounting lid screws must be replaced with slightly longer versions; I used two M3x12mm for the front and one M3x20mm for the back connection that goes directly into the frame.
