Creality/Ender 3 belt shim for X carriage

thingiverse

This shim/spacer nudges the X belt into the 2020 extrusion with ease. It lets me skirt the belt grinding on the edges of the 2020 extrusion on the motor side of the X-axis altogether. There are idlers with bearings that tackle the same issue, but this solution is straightforward and uncomplicated. It mounts by twisting it under the belt on the X-carriage as clearly shown in the images. The belt has to be loose when mounting it. When the belt then tightens up, it keeps the shim locked firmly in place, with just enough clearance for the 2020 extrusion. The part LeftEnderXcarriageBeltShim.stl is designed specifically for the left side of the X-carriage, and that's the only part I used. I thought someone might want a shim for the right side as well, so I uploaded a mirror part too. No supports are needed; just print in the orientation as they're presented in the files.
