Alternative Fan Mount for Ender 2 - A Fresh Design for Enhanced Printing Performance Introducing a revolutionary new design, crafted specifically to optimize part cooling during printing. This innovative solution eliminates the need for repairing the model, providing a quick and effortless upgrade for better part cooling without requiring additional hardware. For optimal results, print this mount in ABS or PETG materials, as residual heat from the nozzle can deform PLA. Easy Assembly Steps: 1. Remove integrated supports from the printed part to prepare it for assembly. 2. Unscrew the original metal cage, followed by the heat block and fan - a straightforward process that paves the way for the new setup. 3. Fit the heat block into the fan assembly and secure it to the carriage using screws. Be sure to remove two washers or replace them with longer screws to ensure a snug fit. 4. Tighten the screws firmly, but avoid applying excessive force to prevent damage to the fan assembly. 5. Screw the fan into place using ordinary metal or wood screws (approximately 12-16mm in length and 2.6-3.2mm in diameter). The original mounting screws are too short for this purpose. 6. To simplify fan installation, consider cutting open the cable sleeve slightly - an easy workaround that can make a big difference. Alternatively, you can glue the fan into place using hot glue; however, we recommend against this approach due to potential complications.
