Creality drag knife mount [vinyl cutter]

Turn your Creality printer into a drag knife cutting machine for under $15. Perfect for making vinyl stickers and t-shirt iron-ons, this setup was designed with the CR-10 in mind but should work with Creality printers featuring the same X carriage. What you need: A drag knife from Amazon or eBay (search 'vinyl cutter blade holder Roland') A rubber band You may also require a longer M3 bolt Follow these steps: https://www.instructables.com/id/Use-3D-Printer-As-a-Plottercutter/ Additional notes: The plugin won't work with Inkscape 1.0, so use version 0.92 instead. It's a good idea to smooth the bottom edge of the blade holder to prevent it from snagging on cut edges. Getting the correct depth of cut can be tricky - try dragging the knife holder across a scrap while keeping it vertical until you get the desired result. When calibrating for "work Z coordinate," have the knife holder push up against the rubber band about 1mm to compensate for a warped or unlevel bed. The Inkscape extension requires strokes to create gcode; when saving, an error message means you have no strokes (only fill). Convert text to paths and make it easy to see cuts by turning off fill and on strokes (set width to .1mm) for each object. The CR-10 connects through COM 3 at a baud rate of 115200. **Remove knife holder when 3D printing**
