Creality Direct Drive: Stock Extruder & Hotend
thingiverse
Beta of a direct drive using the Stock Creality extruder, stepper and hotend. One roller bolt will need to be replaced with a standard M5 socket head bolt. The shroud fits over it for secure mounting. The stepper bracket is secured to the shroud with M3 socket head screws that are screwed into M3 nuts fitted into provided slots. The 5015 blower is secured to the duct in a similar way, and the duct is secured to the shroud. The Extruder location plate fits into the 22mm hole in the stepper motor bracket between the stepper and the extruder backplate, locking them in place. The stepper bracket and duct can be printed without supports in their current orientation. The shroud will need supports from the buildplate only. I recommend printing with 4 to 5 walls for the shroud and stepper bracket at 25% infill. PETG is an ideal material choice. 6/3/19: Slots for the nuts on the stepper bracket were tweaked to make it easier to insert the nuts. 12/3/19: Bondtech BMG extruder bracket was added. 26/4/19: Version 2 of the hotend shroud was uploaded to address an interference with BLTouch sensors.
