Creality CR10 Z brace mounts
thingiverse
I designed my own mounts that are robust and simple to print since I didn't like the available options. These custom mounts reduce Z height by approximately 50mm, although I don't have an exact figure due to not having a stock printer. If you want to measure before printing, note that the top mounts stick down 90mm from the top bar. Required Materials: - (16) M4 x 16mm screws - (16) M4 T nuts - (2) 2ft of 5/16 threaded rod - (8) 5/16 nuts - (6) 5/16 washers Helpful Tips: All filament shrinks after cooling. The degree of shrinkage varies depending on the type of filament used. PLA generally shrinks by about 0.25% PetG typically shrinks around 0.35% Taulman 910 usually shrinks 0.31% This means that a PLA part printed at 200mm long will be short by 0.5mm. I scale all my models in the slicer to 100.25% to compensate for most shrinkage. You can check for yourself if you don't believe me. Humid air is actually less dense than dry air, so it's best to place the desiccant at the top of a container you want to keep dry. Check my designs for a dry box that you can make.
