Creality CR10 bed wire strain relief with cable chain
thingiverse
In the process of designing a custom standalone box for my CR-10S I decided that I wanted to use a cable chain to help relieve any strain on the heat bed wires, thereby preventing them from possibly breaking or coming loose from the bed. I did not know of any currently available STLs that would work with the cable chain I had chosen and allowed an easy connection to the bed, so I designed this one. Try it out and let me know what you think. I printed this in PETG, standing up, so no support was needed. You will need three M3 flat-top screws (5 to 8mm long) for each end of drag chain. Note: I designed this to slide onto the corner of the bed, and then you add the spring (between this part and the bed) and the leveling screw goes through the hole. On the bottom, the leveling wheel goes up against the bottom of this part. A washer may help the leveling wheel turn easier. I have added a version that just sits on the bed carriage, rather than slide onto it, for those who do not like my original version. I am not sure how that version would print best though (I think supports would be needed) unless printed standing up like my first version. Here is a link to the cable chain I used. It is wide enough that the bed wires fit easily. The cable chain also opens up for easy insertion of the bed wires. You can find this same cable cheaper from China if you are willing to wait a while for delivery. The cable chain needs to be the same as this one though for it to mount correctly. Notice the three mounting holes and the size of the cable chain (10x11). https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MCJQ8L6/?coliid=I2RBQPRZ75JZ5X&colid=16EQ3YXLMJJG6&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it As for the way you can mount the other end of the cable to your printer, you may have to design one yourself as mine is a custom mount for my custom control box. (Added a mount, see below) Note: I did design a basic 2020 extrusion mount for the cable chain end to attach to the frame. It mounts under the bottom of the back 2020 extrusion. Line it up with the cable chain bed support. I printed it as it is oriented (with supports) and then just used a file to clean up the supported area. Also, you will probably need a cable/wire extension kit for this to work.
With this file you will be able to print Creality CR10 bed wire strain relief with cable chain with your 3D printer.
