Creality CR-6SE Pi Zero and Camera Case Mount
thingiverse
I wanted a camera to keep an eye on the business end of printing ie the nozzle. This Pi Zero + Camera combo mounts on the end of the X-axis and provides a pretty good view of the nozzle. Essentially I combined these two thingies with some magnets: [Creality CR-6 SE Cable Support with PTFE clamp](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4698688) [Raspberry pi zero w camera case](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4906816) For the X-axis end cover I modified the openscad file to create 2 holes to fix a couple of 6x2mm magnets. The modified openscad file is included. There are 2 versions of the resulting STL file: *x-limit-switch-bracket-cr6_with_pi_zero_mount_holes.stl* this is the verbatim output from openSCAD. Because I wanted to do some further modifications to that STL in FreeCAD and there were problems with the mesh I used an online service to fix it and fixed is included as *x-limit-switch-bracket-cr6_with_pi_zero_mount_holes_fixed.stl*. For the pi zero case the original didn't fit a zero with header pins (the author suggested snipping off the pins). As I didn't want to snip the pins I recreated the case bottom in FreeCAD making it taller and used pegs to "secure" the pi zero and camera instead of the original screws (I didn't have any suitable screws). The cover for the case is just the [original one](https://cdn.thingiverse.com/assets/fd/0e/f2/c9/e7/RaspPiW4Cover.stl). There were some problems with my case. In theory the pins would work to hold the camera and pi in place (I had created some test pieces to verify it), in practice the confines of the case meant I had to use a side cutter to make the pins for the camera thinner, and the pins for the pi shorter. Also the camera cable I had was pretty long (25-30cm) and it was a pain to get it all in, I eventually printed a clip to keep the folded cable together and used tape to hold it down. Despite all that, the end result was worth it.
