Creality CR-6 SE PTFE cable clip
prusaprinters
Creality provides three ring clips to hold the extruder cable bundle up along the PTFE tube. This doesn't work well; the three clips all wind up bunched up together in the middle, leaving the ends flopping around a bit. This clip instead offers a 14mm x 3mm slot for the cable/sleeve and a 4mm diameter partial ring to go around the PTFE tube. The ring for the PTFE tube goes on top, letting the cable hang from the PTFE which is better constrained in its movement. Time will tell, but it looks like these clips stay in place and provide a neater appearance. I used 8 just 'cause it seemed silly to print fewer, given how fast they print. To assemble, I put all of them around the cable first, pushing the top edge of the cable in behind the PTFE clip first, then gently flexing both the slot part of the clip and the cable just a bit to tuck it into place. Then I snapped them all down onto the PTFE tube. Near the extruder motor, I put two clips fairly close together to help keep the tube from popping out. Near the hot end, the PTFE tube moves to the outside of the cable, so I reversed the orientation of the last clip. That last clip shouldn't be any closer than 2in (5cm) as you could affect the response of the strain gauge that handles auto-leveling and homing. It seemed as if the original clips might still be a little useful just past the ends where I put mine. Maybe as a backup in case mine fall apart or something. Update 2020-10-28: Well, they did fall apart when I tried to move them, so I redid them with a 2mm thickness instead of 1mm. These seemed wide enough to try printing without a brim, and I got 9/9 (no failures/detaching) in about 12 minutes. Filament: Prusament ASA Black Notes: Yeah, it's weird I didn't print these on the CR-6 SE itself, but I already had the Prusa printer set up with the 0.6 nozzle which gets us down to just two perimeters on each layer. Printed 8 of these in 9 minutes... once the bed warmed up which took longer (the Prusa Mk2.5s is only a 12V bed). Category: 3D Printer Accessories
