Creality CR-10S Z axis stop extender
thingiverse
This cleverly designed piece, crafted with precision, fits snugly into the lower edge of the left vertical carriage to precisely align the end stop switch for added clearance. The solution addresses a common issue affecting CR-10S and upgraded CR-10 models: when the Z axis moves, the X beam's downward motion causes the right carriage lower edge to brush against the second motor support slightly before the left carriage lower edge triggers the Z end switch. This subtle contact tilts the X beam, causing it to lose its horizontal alignment along part of its Z-axis path. This small piece ensures the switch is triggered at a higher height, preventing unwanted contact on the right side. To install, position the notch under the carriage plate, directly above the switch. Note the custom design, carefully trimmed to prevent any contact with the vertical post. Ensure that the trimming matches perfectly for optimal performance. You may need to add blue tape inside the notch for a tighter fit. Upgrade Tip: To maintain the required tension and keep your bed level, you might want to install some washers under the springs.
