Creality CR-10S Pro LM2596 Buck converter case

This is a snap-together case designed to hold one or two of the affordable LM2596 buck converter boards, such as the ones found on AliExpress at https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32792186556.html. It securely bolts inside the body of a Creality CR-10S Pro and may also work with other printers. It attaches where the stock 4020 blower fan is typically located. The case becomes even more useful when paired with a fan mount like this one found on Thingiverse at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3650487. The case was printed in PLA, which should be sufficient for running fans as most will draw less than 0.5 amps. However, if you're planning to run a Raspberry Pi or similar device off one of the boards, you'll need to check how much they heat up and determine if additional ventilation is required. When printing this case, I found that the material shrunk slightly, resulting in mounting holes that were a bit tight. To resolve this issue, I used a 5mm drill bit to clean them up, taking care not to drill all the way through. This ensured that the screws fit snugly on the posts and provided extra security. To assemble the case, you'll need two M3 x 6mm long screws and a flat washer is highly recommended. If you encounter any issues, you can easily use the screws that hold the bottom panel in place – these are also M3 x 6mm – and use the original fan screws in the bottom panel. The included files are: Case - This design without mounting holes is useful if you want to modify it for another purpose. CR10S pro case - This two-board design is recommended, even if you're only using one board, as there's a spare for future additions. CR10S Pro single - This is the single-board design, ideal for those who only need one. Lid - Self-explanatory, with two required for the two-board design.
