Creality CR-10S Pro Duet 3 Mini 5+ Adapter Bracket

**Description** This is my original design of an adapter bracket to facilitate installation of Duet 3 Mini 5+ in the CR-10S Pro printer. I have now completed the installation and the printer is working perfectly. I will expand the following information as time allows. 2021-05-14: The following adjustments were incorporated in the current v1.1 models to address minor findings with my first installation of the original v1.0 models: - diametric clearances were increased to better accommodate misalignment of the original Creality mounting posts - removed the "filler" feature that was meant to fit into the Creality case SD card slot - it fit well but made the bracket difficult to remove once installed - added a small chamfer the outer edge of the bracket near the SD card slot and USB port to accommodate Creality sheet metal bend radius - minor (0.3mm) adjustment to the USB mini jack location to perfectly center it in the Creality case opening - inward adjustment to the USB mini jack location to simplify the installation by eliminating the need to trim the jack plastic case by about 0.7 mm (I trimmed the adapter cable jack case on my installation in order for the metal jack to fit into the Creality case cutout as in the OEM installation, but this is not necessary for full connector engagement) **Hardware** The following hardware will be required to complete the build of the bracket and the mechanical installation of the Duet 3 Mini 5+: - Qty. 4: 17mm M3 brass hex board standoffs, such as these by [Würth Elektronik](https://www.digikey.ca/en/products/detail/w%C3%BCrth-elektronik/970170324/9488571) - Qty. 5: M3x5x4 short brass heatset inserts, such as these [Brass Hot Melt Inset Nuts](https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000232858343.html) - Qty. 16: M3 bolts of various lengths to mount the standoffs to the bracket (4), bracket into printer housing (5), Duet 3 Mini 5+ onto the standoffs (4) and blower fan onto the bracket (3) - [YCS Basics 1 foot USB micro male to USB mini female adapter cable](https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00D8O8YCG) Note that the the printer enclosure requires a small modification for the bracket to fit: the (unused) cable clip plate that is closest to the solid state relay needs to be removed in order for the bracket to sit flush with the metal housing. I cut the two welds with side cutters, used a rotary dremel tool to smooth the weld surfaces and primed the exposed metal with black paint. I debated including a recess in the adapter bracket instead, but ultimately decided against it. **Wiring** Installation of the Duet 3 Mini 5+ in the CR-10S Pro requires substantial wiring changes to the printer. One of the biggest issues with the Creality OEM wiring is the 30 pin gantry ribbon cable that shares some of the signals such as power and grounds between multiple interfaces. In order to take full advantage of the Duet features I designed the [CR-10S Pro Custom Transfer Board](https://github.com/ReXT3D/cr-10s-pro-mods/tree/duet3d) that allows all signals to be fully independent.
