The extruder motor is positioned poorly on the CR-10, sitting too close to the Z axis threaded rod. Many users find themselves printing a filament guide due to this issue. I sought better access to the entire extruder and easier filament changes. This plate repositions the Nema motor and the extruder mechanism, allowing me to see and access the whole extruder without fiddling around the printer's side. You can also pre-assemble an extruder away from the printer if desired. I've used this adapter for several months with no issues arising. It offers a convenient spot to attach cables. Some M3 screws are required to secure the adapter and Nema motor in place.
