Creality Compatible BMG Style Extruder with X-Axis Chain
thingiverse
This thing is still a work in progress and undergoing rigorous testing. I am not responsible if you waste filament, damage your property, or accidentally hurt yourself. Check the "Updates" section for changes, notes, etc. Updated two original designs that were almost perfect but had minor issues that needed to be corrected to work seamlessly with my Ender 3 Setup. Stefanbergh's Ender 3 compatible BMG style top had a minor issue with the captured nut spacing being too loose for a standard M3 Nut, so I closed in the gap a bit. Bobblejot's base didn't allow for my X-Cable chain mount to be attached, so I notched out a section to add cable guides of all sorts (template/blank also attached with this remix). Additionally, I added room for a M3 screw to hold the Stepper motor beneath the extruder, as I got tired of having to remove the stepper every time I loosened the extruder. This single screw prevents it from falling when the extruder is unbolted. There were also a few other minor adjustments around tolerances. Recommended to be printed in ABS or PETG, however for testing purposes, I've been using PLA and it's been holding together fine. This will never be a substitute for the original Bondtech BMG, so if you're looking for something that works perfectly out of the box and don't mind mounting the extruder in a different location, [support the masterminds behind the original BMG](https://www.bondtech.se/en/). At the very least, buy the original hardware (listed below) required to go into this shell from them. --- **Installation Process:** 1. Coming soon. 2. Coming soon. 3. Coming soon. 4.
