Crazy Simple Camera / Phone Stabilizer

Crazy Simple Camera / Phone Stabilizer

thingiverse

Here's a simple camera/phone stabilizer design I'm working on to make my life easier with film projects. It's not revolutionary, but putting it together is effortless and surprisingly effective, especially considering I use AA batteries as weights. I'd like to give credit where credit is due: the iPhone holder isn't my design - I borrowed it from Shiver on Thingiverse (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:321541). It was a lifesaver; easy to attach and did exactly what I needed. A gimbal design submitted by jbeale inspired me, but I made some tweaks to strengthen it so I can confidently hold small cameras or phones without any problems. Instructions Items you'll need: * 2x 1", 1/4"-20 thread bolts * 6x 1/4"-20 thread nuts * 1x 12" (or longer if you prefer) 1/4"-20 thread rod I'd advise tightening the gimbal a little so it's not too loose, applying some WD40 can make it easier to manage. The design: ABS, layer height .30mm, infill at 100%, shells set to 3.
