Crazy Cart Union

Reflecting on my first concept car design book from 30 years ago, I recall the Union Type C race car's simple yet elegant appearance. It captivated me so much that I wanted to bring it back on the road. To achieve this, I retained symbolic elements such as the front air intake, traditional dashboard, and seat with a small headrest; the racing version also features a classic number label at the front. To match the car's stylish shape, several modifications were made to the original Crazy Cart design. A four-bar linkage mechanism was implemented for the side drift-control bar, altering the handle position and resembling the brake found in old race cars. Additional adjustments, including an extended footrest and gas pedal, tilted steering wheel, and lowered knee height, were made to mimic a classic race car. Ensuring the design remained fun for indoor and outdoor use, I opted for a smaller size with rounded edges to maintain agility and maneuverability, making it suitable for driving in hallways or on sidewalks. The race helmet was provided by 3DCS CONCEPT STUDIO, while Alessandro Lai offered the ErgoMan for precise modeling and rendering. High-quality HDRI environments were obtained through free resources on KeyShot forum (https://www.keyshot.com/forum/index.php?topic=6382.0) and GrabCAD Tutorial (https://grabcad.com/questions/where-to-get-freen-environments-or-backgrounds-for-showcase-or-keyshot).
