Crazy Cart Third person POV project

As a snowboarding and mountain biking enthusiast, Francesco enjoys capturing his adventures on video using a POV perspective. He believes action cameras are perfect for this purpose due to their affordability and popularity. However, finding the ideal support for these cameras has been a challenge. Inspired by the Mario Kart game, Francesco envisions a unique camera setup similar to that of the Crazy Cart. To achieve this, he first downloaded an action camera model and added its field of view (FOV) as a pyramid-shaped sketch. He then adapted it for different camera setups, changing edge styles to bold yellow dashed lines. Next, Francesco used Solid Edge's Goal Seeker tool to create a sketch driving the pole and camera positions. The parts were related to the sketch, making the job easy and accurate in obtaining the desired result. For the support design, he initially considered sheet metal but ultimately chose a plastic part that could be quickly obtained through 3D printing. He optimized the thickness with Solid Edge Simulation's optimization tool. Finally, Francesco moved to Keyshot for camera setup, controlling every aspect of the camera and verifying that the POV matched expectations.
