Crayon Mold

Crayon Mold

This mold can be used to turn old crayon bits into a complete new crayon again.

Cut a soda can so it can be used as a small crucible (as seen in the photo). You can then heat it using a heat gun. Using tongs, pour the melted crayon wax through the funnel into the crayon mold. Let it cool (time will vary based on how much wax entered the mold), and then pop the mold apart to find your complete crayon.

If your printer tolerances aren't great, the mold fit may be tight. Sand down the joining tabs to make the fit easier, then secure with painters or duct tape. In the photo, my fit wasn't great, so some wax leaked out and I sealed it with painters tape.

I used PLA and 18% infill for the parts.
