Crayon holder
thingiverse
My kid is a super-colorful crayon enthusiast who loves using maximum pressure to get the darkest hues possible. Unfortunately, this often results in broken crayons that end up getting discarded. That's why I created this design for two main reasons: first, it supports the crayon in the way my kid likes to color; second, it holds broken crayons so they don't go to waste. Another advantage is that it's perfect for small hands since its size is slightly larger than a Ticonderoga Tri-write pencil. Plus, you can use smaller and more affordable crayons instead of the bigger triangular ones. I've just added version 3 of the design, which my son requested. He wanted a way to control the pusher's movement when handling broken crayon fragments. Using the screw library in MCAD, I added an auger thread to the pusher and subtracted it from the holder body to achieve this.
