Crayola-Compatible Marker Cap Author: Donald L. Merand What It Is: It's a cap designed specifically for Crayola-type markers, perhaps one that has gone missing before? I've definitely misplaced one myself. Printing The design is printed upside-down from the optimal orientation, which I apologize for if it causes any inconvenience. In reality, it should print either way without any issues, but you might experience some problems with it detaching from your print bed when printing in the default orientation. Material Choice: I opted for MadeSolid PET+ here because a more flexible material is needed compared to PLA, and ABS emits carcinogenic fumes which can be hazardous to one's health. Errata Two versions of this design are available. The "3DP-Optimized" version is the one I use personally, featuring a squatter shape and thicker walls than the original cap for easier 3D printing. However, if you prefer your new cap to blend in with the rest of your markers, the other version will fit seamlessly alongside them. If you're feeling adventurous, you can access the parametrically-designed models on Onshape, where you can experiment with the original designs to suit your preferences.
