Crash guards are generally used to separate the snare microphone from the hi-hat, to avoid recording the charlie with the snare microphone. The CG-001 and CG-003 pieces come in 10mm or 12mm shaft versions and are paired using a metal pin or a passing screw. The extended version CG-007 has longer side walls. I usually print the CG-007 in vertical position. Inside the CG-007, I glued sound-absorbing material to avoid recording rebound frequencies from the crash guard itself. I don't have the CG-007 without text. Three M5 socket head cap screws and their respective washers are needed. Three flat washers and three external toothed or glower washers are also required. The mast attachment system is designed to facilitate opening and closing, and not lose the screw, washers, and pin.
