Crank Slider Trammel - 608 / 22mm Bearing slides
thingiverse
I stumbled upon this concept in a documentary about historical builders and thought, "Why not give it a shot?" So, I decided to attempt building one! The original design has two fixed squares that create an elliptical shape when spun. Adding another slider seemed like a great idea. When turned quickly, it resembles a Wankel engine! I had a stash of 608 bearings leftover from my fidget spinner phase and thought, "What better use for them?" I incorporated them into this build. Due to the large print size, I recommend printing one slider and a part of the base first, then checking the fit. My tolerances were set for my specific printer (0.2mm), but yours might be different. Your Mileage May Vary! If you decide to give it a try, I'd love to see your result!
