Crank Handle - Atlas 7B Shaper
prusaprinters

This is an experimental print with limited application, but it may show some useful techniques: square + round hole for carriage bolt; built in "fin supports" for printing.

This is a two part print - a 1/4" x 1.5" carriage bolt and two nuts are used to fasten the two parts together.

Print instructions

There are two parts to this print - the main handle and the attached crank.

Print the main handle long side down with extra perimeters (for strength) and concentric fill. I used 30% grid infill.

The (somewhat) cylindrical crank part gave me problems with bed adhesion due to the small contact area, so I re-made the part with built in "fin" supports. Pritn with "supports from bed" and a brim, extra perimeters for strength, and 30% grid fill. As you can see in the photos, the "fin supports" simply break away after printing.

The OnShape 3D CAD file is available here:

https://cad.onshape.com/documents/ea65929c36e04416bb17de6c/w/19f5201ad4214235524b5c38/e/493f8cf33236787e72923d87
