Crank Brothers eggbeater grease gun adapter
thingiverse
This is a custom-made grease fitting for Crankbrothers Eggbeater pedals designed to simplify the lubrication process. Remove the end cap and screw the fitting in place; then, using your preferred grease gun, force fresh grease into the pedal while pushing out the old stuff. The first time you'll need to remove the seals from the outboard bearing. I saw a metal version of this design for sale years ago and was intrigued by its potential but ultimately decided not to invest. Instead, I drew up my own version and tested it with mixed results. It works as intended, but some users may encounter difficulties. Firstly, you'll need to remove the outboard bearing seals to allow the grease to flow through. This isn't a complicated process, especially since the fitting will introduce so much grease that seals are likely unnecessary after use. Secondly, this design blows out all the dirty old grease but also risks expelling the seal on the inboard end of the pedal axle. To mitigate this issue, I created a small semicircular tool to press the seal back into place; print two copies for even pressure distribution. I've been riding Eggbeater pedals since their original release and have found that disassembling the pedal for cleaning and regreasing is just as efficient as using this custom-made fitting. Nonetheless, I'm sharing my design in case someone finds it useful or interesting.
