Crank Bearing Removal Tool
thingiverse
This tool is used to remove press fit crank bearings commonly found on mountain bikes and high-performance road bikes. As I couldn't find any suitable commercial tools at my local bike shop, I decided to create one myself rather than wait for online delivery. Please note that this DIY tool is not designed for long-term use and should be considered a disposable single-use device. My experience was similar, as the bearings were severely damaged and required significant force to remove them. The procedure is straightforward: insert the narrow end into the crankshaft, then press the tool until the cone fits snugly in place. Finally, use a rubber or wooden mallet to gently press out the bearing. I've parameterized the `.scad` file to allow customization of the tool's size. The included `.stl` file is optimized for bearings with a 30 mm inner diameter. Good luck with your project!
