This cranium was unearthed in 1904 during quarry operations at Acharole, Caithness, near the fallen standing stones that once stood tall. Experts believe it belongs to a young male who lived and died during the early Bronze Age. The burial also included a 'Beaker' pottery vessel associated with the 'Beaker folk' from across Europe. Researchers are intensely studying this individual as part of a broader project investigating Chalcolithic and early Bronze Age burials in the Caithness area. This artifact is housed within the collections at the Hunterian Museum in Glasgow, Scotland. It can be catalogued here: http://collections.gla.ac.uk/#details=ecatalogue.113697 For more information about the site and discovery, see: https://canmore.org.uk/site/8804/acharole-cnoc-sgadain
