Crambin, a small seed storage protein from the Abyssinian cabbage, is part of the thionins family and comprises 46 amino acid residues. It has been thoroughly examined via X-ray crystallography as its unique crystals diffract up to 0.48 Å resolution. The protein's cysteine residues forming disulfide bonds are represented by spheres, with the model based on Protein Data Bank entry 1CRN. This model was created using VMD software. Regarding a printed object, it has been successfully produced in PLA on a Makerbot Replicator2 employing MakerWare 2.2.2.89 at standard resolution with three shells and 25% fill, while utilizing rafts and supports for stability.
