craftsman toolbox replacement latch
thingiverse
I designed a replacement latch for my Craftsman tool kit. The latch broke years ago, and periodically I'd lift my toolbox only for all the drawers to slide out; spilling my sockets everywhere. I printed the new latch with PLA instead of using the original blow-molded ABS material. The factory holes and tabs line up perfectly. I needed to print the left side latch but made a mirrored copy in case you need the right side latch. Make sure you print the correct file ("L" or "R"). You'll need to pry downward on the bottom plate of the box to get the PLA part in, as it doesn't flex like the original ABS material. I used a flathead screwdriver and light-moderate force.
