Craftsman Rolling Tool Cart Caster Mount
thingiverse
I made a replacement caster mount for my Craftsman rolling tool cart after researching the infamous original style. It's notorious for breaking off, leaving the wheel to fall out when moving it, especially over bumps. A review on the Sears website by "teddy1245" caught my eye, pointing me to a similar part from a different tool cart that proved to be better. The Sears webpage specified that my tool cart is model # 00959355000P, also listed as model # 50259355 and item # 59355. It came equipped with an original part number GLP057445. The improved part I designed is based on the 9N012L-5 caster from a service cart model # 87559691. A quick print time of just 45 minutes, achieved using 100% infill and ABS plastic, produced a solid feel that has held up so far. No issues whatsoever - success! I'm providing the Sketchup model and STL file attached below. Here are some key points to keep in mind when making this replacement part: - Print the caster mount with 100% infill for optimal durability using ABS plastic. - Insert the peg of the caster into the hole of the printed part, which should match its exact size or slightly smaller. - When pressing the caster mount and assembly into a 7/8" square tubing leg, ensure proper fitment to avoid issues.
