This adapter is specifically designed for use with thru ratchet sockets such as the Craftsman Max Axess line or the Gearwrench Vortex line. I have tested it thoroughly with Max Axess sockets, and believe that Vortex ones are also compatible due to their similar spline drive. It's a convenient solution when you need to pair these sockets with a torque wrench or a long extension.
