A spring-loaded craft cutter attachment designed for QuickFit carriage by RichRap ensures blade alignment with Jhead extruder, eliminating Z stop adjustments during switching. This improved version simplifies previous complex attempts. Required materials include a Quickfit housing print, top plate print, collar print, three 11mm springs from Bic mechanical pencils (3.5mm wide and 11mm tall uncompressed), and a vinyl cutter blade holder (11.5mm diameter). Tweezers help with spring installation. Assembly order is crucial: install the vinyl tool in its hole, slide the collar onto it, push the top plate into its slot, fit springs using tweezers, and finally reassemble the tool's internals. The attachment allows setting blade depth for cutting without readjusting z-axis when changing tools. The vinyl tool fits snugly but loosely to prevent wobble, while springs cushion against bed level imperfections and hold the tool tightly to materials like paper or vinyl.
