Craftbot Plus SKR1.4 upgrade

Craftbot Plus SKR1.4 upgrade

Some time ago my original Craftbot mainboard stopped working, a perfect opportunity to upgrade the printer with a mainboard that runs on open-source software! The Craftbot will be greatly improved: faster, quieter, more features possible and no more closed software inside (I never liked that). Now also available on my new YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/L61SB1pd0KA **First, get some hardware:** * BigTreeTech SKR1.4 (turbo) mainboard * 4x BigTreeTech TMC2209 stepper drivers * BigTreeTech TFT3.5 v3.0 display * BigTreeTech BTT Writer v1.0 (optional, WIFI adapter programmer) * 35cm neopixel 12volt (60 leds/meter) RGB LED strip (we will replace the original white LED strip) * Stepdown XL6009e converter (we need this for the LED strip) * 2x 120cm flat cable 14 wires (display: 3x5 wires, LED strip: 3 wires) * 60cm flat cable 2 wires (for Y-end switch) * 2x 240cm wire (for fans) * 24v fan (to replace original 12v heater fan) * 2x 24v fan (to replace original 12v object fans) **WIFI setup** https://github.com/luc-github/ESP3D https://github.com/luc-github/ESP3D-WEBUI **Craftbot hardware** * 24Volt PSU * Extruder stepper: 17HS3001-20B * X,Y, Z steppers: 17HS3001-26B (or SL42S247A: 1.8deg.step DC2.5A) **PID tuning** You can find some information about it here: https://3dprintbeginner.com/hotend-and-heatbed-pid-tuning M303 E0 S245 C8 (extruder) M303 E-1 S90 C8 (bed) **STL's** There are 3 versions of the SKR-plate: 1) default, only for the SKR board. 2) as 1 but with support for the stepdown converter (RGB LED power) 3) as 2 but with extra support for the BigTreeTech Relay to shutdown the printer, I used it 2 days for testing and it burned out internally!!! (will not buy a new one ever, too risky!!) 4) as 2 but with extra support for a MosFet device, used for the extruder fan. Not ready yet, will be available in a few days.. **Marlin** I have added the complete Marlin-package with the current Craftbot configuration, so: just compile it and upload it to your SKR-board. **Instructions** Will follow as soon as possible, very busy with the design of the 3.5" display holder. This documentation is not ready yet.. 20-10-2020: status now: my Craftbot is running super with the SKR1.4, a MosFet device and RGB LEDs. It prints every day very quietly and with good quality! I hope to finish things as soon as possible. If you want to start with rebuild, just go for it, if you need help, just contact me.
