CraftBot FLOW inside cabin filament holder and side panel holes
thingiverse
Dear All, After using my CraftBot (original) 6 years, I bought a second one during COVID lock-down in last December: CraftBot FLOW. This new machine has a bigger build volume (300 x 200 x 250) and lot of automated calibration features. Besides all new stuff, its housing is also 1/3 bigger than the original one... After using it about two months, I just realized it has lot of free space in the housing, to the left and right side of the build plate: 2x (90 x 325 x 375) - this is a lot! Essentially, you can easily fit 200 x 77mm filament rolls in each side; with a careful design you can even fit 2 + 2! It will have following benefits: - I will mount 2x ABS rolls to the backside of the machine to original mounts, 2 PLA rolls to the inside to the newly made system and have easy access my favorite filaments. Besides, no filament spool will be on the left/right outside of the machine - I will save some space in my office. - Keeping PLA rolls inside the machine is good, because (a) they will not collect dust and (b) due to heated bed, my PLAs will always be in warm, dry condition - always ready to print - All 4 filaments will be easy to access, changing from one to another will be very fast. So I decided to design 2 simple parts: 1. Side panel covers (for carrying handles) with 2.5mm holes to allow filament pass from inside to outside 2. Simple filament roll holder with max footprint of 90x120 mm for each side. I printed them using white ABS-S (special warp-free ABS, prints like PLA), you can of course print them in PLA or ABS - no problem. No special settings needed Enjoy!
