Craftbot filament sensor
thingiverse
This filament sensor comprises two essential switches, each measuring 20mm in length. The first switch is designed to detect when the filament runs out or breaks, while the second switch is triggered by a filament jam. Both switches can be connected in a sequential manner: the first switch operates as normally open, whereas the second switch functions as normally closed. To enable the pull-up resistor, use the command gpio -g mode 21 up, specifying BCM pin 21. Verify the working IO with gpio readall. This sensor is compatible with Octoprint, and the "Filament Sensor Reloaded" plugin can pause the Craftbot printer upon detection of a filament issue, allowing for a seamless resume of the print job when commanded to do so. Part three of this assembly must be securely attached to part one. Part two, serving as a cover, can be screwed in place using the switches provided.
