Craft Tube Model Rockets

Craft Tube Model Rockets

My son recently rescued some crafting tubes from being thrown away and together we made a bunch of rockets using them. I later discovered those tubes were a non-standard size (or at least a size I couldn't find on Amazon), so I redesigned our rocket plans to use more easily found crafting tubes.\r\n\r\nFor the best results, search for "Craft Tubes" on Amazon and grab the ones shown here...\r\n(https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CBRLQKS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) Any tube with identical diameter and thickness should work just fine.\r\n\r\nThese rockets are designed to use the Estes "standard" motor size (18mm: A to C). But they will only fly well using B or C sizes. We successfully launched them on B6-4's or C6-3's, but not on A8-3s. The A8-3s only got the rockets around 100 feet in the air before the ejection charge went off and they landed almost immediately. The "Baby Shark" and "Turbo Jet" rockets flew perfectly on B6-4's or C6-3's, but we didn't have a successful stable launch with the bomb rocket and the Stellar Explorer broke when testing with A8-3s. We removed the parts for 13mm motors and couplers because they will NOT fly with them.\r\n\r\nWARNING: It is up to you to make sure your rockets are stable before launching them. Try doing a "Swing test" which can be found on Youtube. You may need to add weight to the nose cones or print them with thicker infill instead of adding extra weight.\r\n\r\nYou'll have to figure out your own shock cord mounts and recovery systems for each rocket. The 18 mm variant's come with a half ring on the motor can where you can tie a shock cord to.\r\n\r\nAs an extra, I included a "Baby Shark Body" that you can put any nose cone into, including the baby shark one, to make a baby shark.\r\n\r\nI'll post some photos when we have all our rockets completed.
