Crab Trap
thingiverse
We build this crab trap specifically for snaring small crabs in the dam to utilize as live bait when fishing for barbel. Some of our favorite spots to fish have crabs present, but they remain submerged even at night, unlike other locations where they migrate onto the bank at dusk. Even then, catching them by hand can be a challenge. That's why this crab trap was designed. Construction is straightforward. I employed small cable ties to hold everything together. First, assemble it with the cable ties loosely secured. Once assembled, pull them tight. The door's cable ties require just enough slack for the door to swing open and shut easily. For the top panel, I used small binder clips so I can effortlessly lift the top to hang my bait and retrieve the crab(s). Good luck on your fishing trips!
