You need to use longer screws for this adapter: 3x M3x8mm and keep the rail screw. For the fan, I use a Noctua NF-A6x25 that I power with a Buck LM2596 to lower the voltage of the motherboard which is 24V to the fan voltage. I enlarged the two mounting fan holes with a 6.5mm drill.
