CR123A to 18650 Sleeve (Streamlight HL-X)
thingiverse
An adapter sleeve for CR123A batteries so they don't wobble inside your HL-X flashlight. There is a rib on the inside so that the sleeve will not slide up and down when assembled. This means print orientation is critical as there is a small draft to support the rib. I have saved the STL in the proper orientation. See the "Print Settings" for tips such as material selection. YOU MUST CUT THE 3 X TABS ACROSS THE SLIT ONCE YOU FINISH THE PRINT. This was specifically designed for an HL-X Flashlight so I can't verify it's compatibility with other flashlights. I have included multiple versions of the sleeve that can give you a looser or tighter fit. If none of these work, I always include STEP files so you can edit them yourself. For the "optimal" fit: Use the file "123SleeveOptimal.stl" if your printer can hold tolerances pretty well. The batteries will be held and place yet come out easily when you need to replace them. For a "tight" fit if the "optimal" fit is too loose: Use the file "123SleeveTight.stl" if the previous sleeve file is too loose. Might need to tap flashlight to get it to slide out freely. Might require some sanding if it's too tight. For a "loose" fit if the "optimal" sleeve is too tight: Use the file "123SleeveLose.stl" as there is .022" of clearance on the diameter. If none of these work, you can use the STEP file to offset the outer face however you want. I have not extensively tested this so I can't comment on heat output by these high power flashlights. Most commercial versions are made with Delrin. However I do believe that if your flashlight is getting hot enough to melt plastic; the sleeve is the last of your worries when using lithium batteries. PRINT/USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
