CR10S PRO Filament Sensor Repair Improvement MicroSwitch
thingiverse
The Creality CR10S PRO (and possibly other models as well) comes equipped with a notoriously finicky microswitch that requires a whopping 70 grams of pressure to activate. This poses a significant problem when trying to push filament through, and many users have reported experiencing unstable functions due to the roller's misalignment with the filament. Furthermore, ignoring scraping whining sounds during retraction is also a common issue. This mod aims to replace the existing microswitch with a new 10-gram type, but unfortunately, this newer model isn't available in the same PCB angle solder type as the original. However, there are a few simple workarounds that can help you mount it accurately nonetheless. After performing this mod, you'll find that the resistance from the switch is greatly reduced, making it much easier to change filament and eliminating error detections altogether. Don't forget to adjust the roller height so it's perfectly centered where the filament is. To achieve this, simply take out the PCB again, carefully bend the microswitch angle, and perform a test while the unit is in the correct orientation. This will cause the lever to fall slightly downward.
